March is ‘sugaring season’. Maple syrup is made as it has been for generations. Throughout the month, tours of area sugar houses are offered where you can watch the art of making maple syrup and local events highlight foods incorporating pure maple syrup.
April brings Crocus, Forsythia & bird song back to the Green Mountains. The brook near the farm begins to come out from under its blanket of ice & can be heard babbling clearly through the bedroom windows at night.
May brings the greening of the hills of Vermont ~ Lilacs, Daffodils & Apple Blossoms, each with their heady, sweet fragrance ~ a sure sign that spring has arrived in earnest. Vermonters know this time of year as one of our most beautiful seasons.
