Llamas at Spirit Hill Farm are bred not only for excellent conformation and dispositions but also for fine fiber/fleece.
Virginia has gained a international reputation for designing and producing some of the llama industries finest llama fiber products available today. Spirit Hill Farm llamas are sheared annually, in the spring. Shearing serves to keep the llamas cool in the hot, summer months and supplies Virginia with enough fine fiber to produce her unique and limited line of elegant llama shawls, vests, blankets and throw rugs. Llama fiber is considered a specialty fiber and possesses the same attributes as more widely recognized Cashmere and Alpaca in terms of available natural colors, feel/softness, warmth and wear-ability.

Spirit Hill Suri Llama Shawl
Virginia’s Original Design uses the actual ‘suri lock’ that is the calling card of the wildly popular Suri Llama. She hand spins the suri fiber, leaving some of the actual curls in the fiber for a nubby yarn effect – then weaves in actual long suri locks as accents across the bottom edge of the shawl.

Spirit Hill Llama Fleece Vest
Fashioned after the polar fleece vests but oh, so much better (and no static electricity). The llama vest is a three season garment. Very light weight but warm, soft but utilitarian, casual but dressy when you want.

Spirit Hill Llama Runner
These Runners are one of a kind. Loomed by hand from natural color llama rug yarns and woven on linen, these thick rugs are extremely soft under foot. Though extremely durable we do not recommended for high traffic areas.
