When we moved to Vermont in 1971 our first job was working for a local farmer and his wife making maple syrup. Learning the art of making pure maple syrup that spring solidified a life long love of this magical product and spawned a specialty food business known as Vermont Gold with maple syrup at it’s heart that we ran for over 15 years. The business is long gone now ~ bought by a ‘big company’ that, sadly, gobbled it up and regurgitated it as something altogether different. So, we’ve gone back to our roots and offer our Pure Vermont Maple Syrup, produced right up the road and packaged just like we did back in 1971 ~ the tried-and-true, old-fashioned, traditional way ~ by hand in our own country kitchen.
